I have two foster dogs here.  They require medical attention and some other BS if they are to find a home.  Basically I need about $500 to get them on to a new permanent home.  GSP rescue is willing to spend some money, but it's like pulling teeth.  They want to spend their money a dollar at a time.  I can understand their point, but we can spend the money intelligently and without politics if I just have a budget to work with.  The faster we sort this stuff out, the quicker they get into a good situation.

So I am trying to raise the tiny sum or $500.  This is 0.00025% of what I think the HSUS budget is. Do you think they would give me a dollar?

So what would I do with the $500?  Odin has pain.  We need an x-ray survey to see how bad it is.  It would be unfair to any new owner to not know what the situation is exactly and how much it will cost on a regular basis.  I need a professional to make a personality evaluation.  I have my personal evaluation, plus two veterinary opinions, but the dogs have been bounced once and I want their forever family to have a clean bill of health regarding their temperaments.  For the record, these are the calmest most respectful GSPs I have ever met.

So why are they in rescue?  Blame Uncle Sam.  These were rescue dogs to begin with.  They went to a person in the USAF who had been promised she wouldn't be sent overseas.  The recent administration change changed all that.

Who is "on the hook"?  You are. 

• If you read this blog and get some pleasure out of it, you need to "pay" for that by sending money.  I have never asked for a dime from anyone. 
• I'd also like to put on notice other breeders (I've already spent hundreds of my own money and negotiated hundreds more in free and discounted care). 
• I'd like to call out the good folks of Arizona.  You see, the good folks of New England adopt all the GSPs available in the region.  These dogs were born in Arizona and came here because we have a "shortage" of rescue dogs.
• I'm hesitant to call out the veterans' groups.  I think you have given enough.  If you have any network to raise some money, I'd appreciate the help.
