Marshfield and Sandwynn Kennels are very happy to announce...

Corgi Puppies!

Click here for everything that we've written about the litter.  You can see the pedigree with many of the ancestors in one post.

Now on with the show.  Iris whelped seven healthy pups Monday night into Tuesday morning.  Seven pups in six hours is a very good rate.  She's an awesome mother and all the pups are gaining weight quickly.  We have four girls and three boys.

Color wise, we have two tri-colored girls, two red and white girls and three red and white boys.  Just like GSP's their colors and markings are all set at birth, but not presented at birth.  A well trained eye can predict what they will look like as adults.  My eye isn't so well trained.  The black areas recede revealing red, and the white areas shrink (just like GSP's).

We have several available if you are looking for a well-bred Cogri.  Please contact Diane Manocchia (click here for contact info) as she is screening folks.

Anyway, here are a smattering of pictures.  These pups were so mobile from the time they were born it's been hard to take a decent picture.  Forgive the fuzzy ones, they are the best we have so far.

Proud Momma.

They only eat and sleep right now.

They can't even poop without help from Iris.

Shown larger than actual size.

A daily weigh in is the easiest "medical" information you can gather.  If a pup is loosing weight after day 2, call your vet.  Minor "losses" happen due to timing of feeding, but a downward trend is a problem.

They look like baby raccoons to me.

Hooray for puppies!
