One thing I know, I'd keep a Tennessee Walker for this purpose. You don't need to be an expert horseman to ride comfortably all day on a Walker.

or a Paso Fino, or a gated cross breed.

Yes the dog people prefer an easy rider, easy keeper. They need to trailer, load and stand. Ride all day without complaint. And have dogs around, under and jumping on them.
