Diva and Iris bred

Diva very thoughtfully followed a standard heat cycle.  We saw blood, we swabbed, and we followed her progress.  Todd picked up Diva's package at FedEx yesterday morning and I inseminated her shortly thereafter.

For Iris this was only her second heat.  And it was nothing like the first.  Did not match any textbook anywhere.  We've been looking for her to come in since early February.  This week she seemed to come on strong only to drop off.  Brutus insisted that Iris was still in.  So, we rechecked her on Wednesday and her cytology said it was time to breed.  So, back to FedEx again this morning to pick up her package.  I was also on my way to the optometrist and not dressed for the office.  We decided last minute to go for a surgical insemination as well for her, to maximize chances of pregnancy with her odd cycle.  I found myself standing in the surgery room wearing kitten heels performing a surgical insemination for Iris.

Todd and I are also now the proud owners of not one, but two containers for shipping semen.  We thought of selling one, but then figured the girls would go the tag team route again.
