This one put me off my chair this morning.

Hello,

I came across your website today and became very interested! We currently have a Pointer/Lab mix and we love her to death! She is about a year and a half and is a rescue dog. In the near future we will be looking into getting a play mate for her and would love to get a pure bred pointer. And she would not be used to hunt with!

At some point I was wondering if we would be able to come and meet your dogs and get to know you a little better? I am sure that you are very knowledgeable on the breed and may be able to answer any questions we may have in the future.

Like I said earlier, it probably wont be for another 8 months to a year before we are ready.

Thank you so much for your time!

Jen MacDonald

That person didn't spend much time reading your pages huh?
You would have loved all the calls and e-mails I got from the Free Bucking Pony Ad asking if she was good with kids. Some people you just know right away you are NOT connecting with!!

Yes, you get a "feeling" pretty quick about folks.  Then they tend to get offended when you reply sharply.  Of course, they are the 200th person to send you a nearly identical email...

I bet the bucking pony would have made a good husband horse, or maybe a hunter-jumper schoolmaster.

Honestly, if we'd have had the fencing, I'd have used her for a brood matron and crossed her to bomb-proof riding ponies.  The Good Doctor thinks the bucking may have been pain related and reduced via chiropractic adjustments.  Someone got a good deal on that pony, and I'm glad it was you making the decision on where she is.  Nobody better to make that call in my opinion.

I nearly fell off my chair -- not laughing, however.  Dismayed -- I think would be the feeling I had.  I get this kind of junk all the time, but this one took the cake.

And the kicker is that some people then have the audacity to be offended that you won't sell them a dog. And while Iris's puppies won't have the restriction of only hunting homes, we'll still be selective about their placements.
