AVCA certification complete
As of this past week I am fully American Veterinary Chiropractic Association certified. Completing my course through the Healing Oasis in Canada www.veterinarychiropractic.ca/ already meant that I was qualified to practice as an animal chiropractor. Going through the AVCA program was further proof for consumers that I am qualified.
So, I came back from Canada from my last module on a Sunday evening only to turn around on Thursday and hop on a plane to Oklahoma. In Oklahoma, I took a written exam and a hands-on practical exam. In late May, I received notification that I had passed my exams. This was then followed by a 40 hour internship.
Fitting in 40 hours away from the office to complete an internship was a challenge. My heartfelt thanks go out to Dr. Dave Jefferson of Maine Equine Associates who not only allowed me to shadow him, but also allowed me to perform adjustments under his supervision. This allowed for much refinement of my technique and great improvement of my perception. He also introduced me to some craniofacial techniques. My thanks also to the clients who accepted me into their barns.
And if by chance you've come to this article looking for an animal chiropractor, I do not have e-mail in my office, but you're welcome to contact me via e-mail, amanda@marshfieldkennel.com to make an appointment or to call the office at 207 284 9911
