Brutus finds his permanant home

I found a great home for Brutus.  The guy is active in NAVHDA, hunts, loves dogs and lives on 20 acres in the country.  He's totally in love with Brutus and will give him the best of everything.  The real kicker -- his wife hunts and is a veterinarian.

Yes, Brutus is staying here.

I raised him as my own, and was thinking about him as we, Brutus and I, ran errands.  I thought "This is a really great dog.  You might spend five years looking for a started dog with his pedigree, personality and talents."  Then I thought, "I'm gonna cry when he goes."

That's just not right.  I've got about as much cash into him as the market will bear for a started GSP, and I think he's worth more.  I don't think he's got the tools that Diva is blessed with, but I think he has something else.  He's really likable.  I've not bonded to a dog so well in a long time.

Colt is slowing down and I need to replace his production afield.  I really enjoyed hunting with Brute and that's unusual considering he was 9 months old.  So I'm keeping the big goofy pup.  I see a lot of his mom in him and quite a bit of his dad's trainability.  I'm happy to have him and that it's all settled.

Could have used the money for Christmas, though...

I've been telling him for months that it wak okay for Brutus to stay. Brutus doesn't chase the cat and plays well with the corgi. Just have to send in his microchip registration now with us as owner. I sent Brutus out last weekend for errands with Todd.
