Sanford Maine Versatile Hunting Dog Association

For those of you who missed me at the last Sebasticook Chapter clinic, I did some training here in Shapleigh with my friend and neighbor, Tom.  In less time than the four-plus-hour round trip it would take for me to get to any chapter, we got some decent field training in for our own dogs.

Tom and I have been training on Thursday evenings ever since.  Field and water work, often dictated by the weather.

I've gotten the "green light" from the surrounding chapters and from the International to form a new chapter here.  But I think we'll take our time.  Our goal is to gather a dedicated group of dog trainers first then start worrying about the trappings of chapter-hood.  We'd like to offer something smaller and more flexible than other chapters in the region.  Our focus will be on serving folks immediately surrounding Sanford, Maine.

If you are interested in joining us for our weekly training sessions, please get in touch with me at tchrisman@marshfieldkennel.com.  These aren't clinics, this is "You help me train my dog; I help you train your dog."  The official unofficial web site is at http://groups.google.com/group/SMVHDA
