Gun Free Zones
This is a great editorial I read in the Wall Street Journal which reinforces my argument that gun free zones like schools are deranged-lunatic-with-a-gun magnets.

Sorry about the link. I was prepared to infringe on the WSJ copyright, but thought better of it. Found someone else already either did it, or has the rights. The only problem I had was the phrase "hunting down other victims." Shooting unarmed people in a shopping mall isn't remotely close to hunting.
You know the "home invasion" originated in England. You see, when there's little chance of a gun being in the house, then it's "safer" for the criminal to break in when everyone's home. They terrorize and subdue (and often beat and rape) the folks inside rather than risk someone will come home while you are doing an "honest" burgalary of an unoccupied house.
In my neighborhood there's probably a better than 75% chance a criminal perpatrating a home invasion will meet armed resistance. Even the folks who don't have guns are protected from home invasion by those who do, and that's why you seldom hear of it in rural America.
