Tango's new home

Hey Guys,

Just want to give you the day one update.  Tango had a great night.  Maybe a little lonely, but he pushed through just like the champ he is.  Tango will be his call name, it took quite a debate with the 7 year old on the way home and if you have ever matched minds with 7 year old you know it wasn’t an easy debate.  In the end he came around.

He took to home very nicely, found his crate right away, had a little bedtime snack, went out did his business and tucked right in til around 230, went out took care of business and right back in til around 530 when I got up.   He is surely not off his food he plowed right through this morning. We walked McKinley to bus and then came to school with me.

All and all he’s had a pretty big half a day for a young pup.  He’s napping it off in the office as I right this.

Can’t thank you enough and we hope we do you proud.

Greg

Well it's Tango at his new home for a week. What a great pup, I can't say it enough and it's not just me I have got it from the dog folks at school and the non-dog folks. Last week was a great week for Tango to start with us. All the kids were on spring break so Tango got to roam a bit and find his way around campus. In the office he laid on his bed like a champ getting up to visit the few folks that were around. He made big friends with the Headmasters assistant; in fact she won't talk to me now unless he's with me. Friday I was working in our business office and Tango made himself right at home finding the stash of toys that belong to the business manager's dogs. Today was busy for a young pup with all the kids back it was day of visiting as they filed in and out with all their computer troubles.

At home he has been just about as good, we found that he had a little lapse in his house breaking can't blame anyone but ourselves just gave him a little to much free reign. Not a big set back I told Penny he heard her call the up stairs landing the "craft corner", he just misunderstood he thought she said it was the "crap corner".

All right, now for the good stuff there have been a number of good signs with Tango. Penny getting it together to bring Tango home, seeing partridge on the way home from picking him up, and tonight when we came out the door to come home there were a brace of timber doodles digging around in the bushes. I couldn't help myself I had to see what he would do so I walked him into the cover a bit and the birds just ran twenty or thirty feet. Tango still didn't see them but he sure got a nose full and I'd have to say he got a little birdie. He followed them right up the hill until they flew and he stood still as can be with head cocked sideways like, "Oh that's what that smell was." OK so I'm just a little excited.

Changing gears one more time Matt and I are packing up to head off for the Snowboard Nationals in Lake Tahoe. I was looking through the registration stuff and found that Matt has added Marshfield Kennels as a sponsor either he's as happy to have Tango here as I am or he's looking for something, Todd.

Next week while we're gone Tango is going to work on his social skills and hang out during the day with a two-year-old golden named Trot.

Guess that was our first week. Can't wait to get back and be able to spend some quality time outdoors. Let's hope the snow is gone and mud season is in full swing.
