I have devastating news. Shelley, Candace and Darren Grant of Ataboy Reg'd Kennel, near Goderich ON, have lost their home and all their possessions in a house fire Monday morning. Shelley, Darren and Garnet are fine and Candace, fortunately, didn't make it home from Woodstock that evening due to the snow and road conditions -- she is fine. They lost Darren's Chihuahuas, many puppies and 5 adult dogs, along with a beloved cat. The dogs in their kennel building are fine-- the kennel building was unharmed fortunately due to the snowfall and wind direction. It is a heated facility so the current animals in there are fine.

I just spoke with Shelley. So far there is nothing set up that she is aware of in terms of bank accounts, however, if anyone would like to help, she does have a PayPal account set-up via her website: www.ataboy.ca and she says financial assistance can be sent that way and via email. She does not have access to a computer at this time, but her son-in-law will be bringing his laptop to her in a few days and getting her back on-line.

I will speak to my bank today and see if I can get an account set up for them and get back to the list with that information. There is nothing but a few bricks left of their home and obviously they are devastated beyond comprehension. There isn't a nicer family in dogs -- I am torn to pieces to hear this news.
