Clever trick with my Lingo Phone
OK, even though my number, just by being with Lingo, is unlisted. And I'm on the do not call list (www.donotcall.gov). And Lingo is set up to block all numbers that are "private."
I still get a few JERKS who call. All are criminals because I'm on the DNC list, most are probably even more criminal, looking for some private information. They always call back.
Lingo does not have a "block call" feature (yet). But they do have a specific call forwarding feature. I suppose if I was expecting an important call (and I knew the number it would come from), I could forward it to any phone in the world. But I found a better use for the feature.
So now when these morons call, I look them up on caller ID with name, Google it, then if they are scumbags, I add them to my list of calls to forward.
The kicker, the number is for the IRS.... So when they call back they'll hear "Thank you for calling the IRS, this call will be recorded." It doesn't even ring at the house.
If you want Lingo phone (which is under $25/month for unlimited calling to the US, Canada, Europe and a bunch of other places plus ALL the features you pay extra for -- FREE) please poke around on my site for an ad and buy it from there. I'll get like $25, you'll get a free month.
