Shapleigh Move
The appraisal came in on the farm at $210K. The bank naturally doesn't want to loan us the money unless we come up with the difference in cash. Cash we don't have.
Neither one of us can really expect our parents to chip in for it. Amanda's folks didn't send her to graduate school she could sponge off them for the rest of her life. Ditto with my folks, except in addition to undergrad, they helped me get off the ground with the Marshfield house. The expected profits of which are fueling the farm purchase.
We were supposed to close on Friday and did not due to the delta on the appraisal vs. sale price. We're working on alternatives, but we've lined up an apartment that's not great, but will work.
If we can't close the Shapleigh thing this week, we'll ride out the storm in the new apartment. We'll see if the market goes down as much as I expect and get a new RE agent. I've lost all confidence in the one we've got.
