Guess the pup's final coloration
Here are Roxie's pups. Let's have a contest. Someone needs to remind me to judge it later.
Reply at the bottom with your predictions of what the pups will look like. This picture is at 10 days. If you want to email a picture of an adult dog tchrisman@marshfieldkennel.com and I'll post it. You can't send a picture of any close relatives.

This may be naive, but does the color really change that much?
Perhaps the color is the wrong word to use. Please take a stab at the ticking pattern. It will change a little or a lot. Maybe not at all, maybe nearly solid. Colt looked like this at 10 days, so did Diva except she was black instead of liver. Winnie was mostly solid, with a star on her chest and white toes.
The basic color of the dog is fixed (Liver, Black, and yes, Brown all exist), the pattern takes months to develop and even changes with the season.
As for the three in the picture, they will not look the same, and there are hints already.
Lisa,
I suggest that you surf trough Marshfield Kennel's web site under Litter "A". You will see pictures of the A Litter puppies at different ages. Therefore you will be able to see the evolution on their ticking.
The solid "color" (black, liver or brown) will not change, but where you see white, it will slowly become more ticked or roan. Like Todd wrote, it varies on each individual dog. But, yes, in general the "color" (read Todd's reply regarding COLOR) it can change that much.
