Fall Hunting trip Bird Camp with two Quebecers

Got some great news!  My friend Gilbert and his buddy Claude wants to go to South Dakota with me and whomever I can rustle up from the North East.  He keeps those shaggy dogs, and they are well trained.

He writes:

My reply is:

I'll be going in Mid November, after the corn is harvested.  I'm told this concentrates the birds, and hunter numbers are down.

I'm going out for two weeks, it's the only thing that makes sense when the cost of travel (in time, effort and money) is so great.

I'm planning to make it as cheap a trip as possible.  I'm thinking of spending a week in a tent on the Public Grasslands.  I've been told this is a fun place to hunt, and it's free to camp.  It's mostly sharp-tail grouse and prairie chickens.

I have friends, Kelley and Aaron Landry in North-eastern SD.  So I plan to pick their brains too.  I want to shoot pheasants and Hungarian Partridge too.
