Turkey Talk

Sorry about the quality of the pictures, they were shot out the windows, through screens and doggie nose prints.  The digi-cam focused on the trees.  You can't just throw open the door, turkeys can really see.

Four toms, maybe twenty hens.

Colt still going

Colt is still alive.  He was diagnosed with lung cancer at the beginning of December and given a prognosis of days, maybe hours to live.  He has bad days and if he strings too many together, we will call it.  But he still seems to prefer being alive, so he gets to remain with us.

Here he is modeling Dove's Breast Cancer coat.  We bought it for her after her bilateral radical mastectomy to help keep her warm and so I wouldn't have to look at it.

My Aunt Shirly's Curry Vegatable Dip Recipe

This was always a favorite of mine and was always served at family occasions.  I never knew who brought it and never gave it much thought (I was a kid) until we moved from Ohio and it wasn't there anymore.  So I racked my brain and sort of figured out that every time I could remember it Dick and Shirley were there.  So I asked my cousin Steve to help and his (wonderful) girlfriend Sharon actually got it for me.

Curry Vegetable Dip

1 C Hellmann's Mayonnaise
1 tsp curry powder
1 tsp horseradish
1 tsp grated onion
1 tsp tarragon vinegar
1 tsp garlic salt or garlic powder

Mix all ingredients and let stand 24 hours. Serve with celery, radish, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, peppers, etc.
